Michael Lamensdorf, M.D., F.A.C.S.
A renowned cataract and lens replacement surgeon, Dr. Michael Lamensdorf is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons.
He graduated from Oberlin College and received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his residency at the esteemed University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute and continued his specialty education with the premier fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Lamensdorf was awarded the Chief Resident award at the University of Pennsylvania, providing him with the opportunity to direct the residency program for a year following his fellowship.
He is affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the Cape Surgery Center.
Dr. Lamensdorf is an active member and supporter of numerous civic and charitable organizations. Each year, he donates his services to patients who cannot afford to pay for cataract surgery. He also created Health On Site, which provides complimentary cataract evaluations to area seniors.
An avid rower and cyclist, Dr. Lamensdorf can always be found on Sarasota’s beautiful waters on Saturday morning and cycling his 80 miles each Sunday morning.
