EYE SPECIALISTS CONTACT LENS SERVICE

We offer a comprehensive contact lens service and are dedicated to working with you to achieve the best type of lens and the best wearing schedule for you. Wearing contact lenses is a serious endeavor and we strive to provide you with the necessary education regarding contact lenses so that your eyes remain healthy and your vision is positively impacted.

Dr. David Sabin directs our contact lens services and is particularly skilled with challenging contact lens fittings. Dr. Sabin and Karen, our certified contact lens technician, will work diligently to fit you successfully whether you are new to contact lenses or a long time wearer. Both Dr. Sabin and Karen keep abreast of all of the latest lens types and wearing schedules through professional education and researching all of the latest literature. We are especially proud of all the patients we have been able to fit who had never been able to wear contact lenses before!

Our examination process and diagnostic testing insures that your eyes are healthy enough for contact lenses and predicts what lens and wearing schedule will work the best for your lifestyle.

Please remember that it is always recommended that contact lens wearers have a back-up pair of glasses (with a current prescription) as well as non-prescription sunglasses. Gail and Sharon, our fantastic Opticians, would be delighted to assist you in the selection of both. Click here to learn more about our Eye Specialists Eyewear Boutique.

THE PROCESS

ESTABLISHED CONTACT LENS WEARERS

Dr. Sabin will provide a comprehensive eye examination. If you are a current contact lens wearer, there is no additional charge for the contact lens portion of the evaluation. If however, you are experiencing difficulties with your vision or lenses or you wish to change either your lens type or wearing schedule, there will be a fee involved for that "new fit." A pair of trial lenses will be provided to you (these may need to be ordered). A follow up visit will then be scheduled after you have worn the trials for approximately one week. At that time, Dr. Sabin will verify that the correction and the fit are the best available for you. This will be repeated until the best vision and fit are achieved. You will then be given a copy of your contact lens prescription. That prescription is valid for one year. Karen is always helpful in explaining the most affordable manner of ordering for you.

NEW CONTACT LENS WEARERS

Dr. Sabin will conduct your comprehensive eye examination and assess if indeed you are a quality candidate for contact lenses. If you are, a contact lens fitting examination will be scheduled. At that visit, trial lenses will be fitted and you will be trained in the proper insertion, removal and care of the lenses. We will then check your vision at one week to make sure you are perfectly comfortable in your lenses. A prescription will then be provided which is valid for one year. As previously mentioned, Karen can discuss all of your ordering options and Gail and Sharon in our optical will be happy to help you select the best pair of back-up glasses and non-prescription sunglasses for you.
